For the first time in 15 years we will have a Reserve team competing in the East of Scotland League. The decsion was taken to move last year's U19 side up to the East of Scotland League as a few of the lads were getting older and also to cut travelling costs.
In the past few years the Trust have helped out with youth development and the reserve team set-up in the following ways.
- Provided cash in the initial stages to help with balls, training gear etc.
- Donated a full set of strips, sporting the Trust logo.
- Donated £500 towards the general running in 2004/5.
- Donated a further £4,500 in season 2005/6.
- Produced full colour matchday programmes for every game in 2006/7.
- Helped set up a website (www.brfcyouthinitiative.co.uk
We will be looking to continue our support in the future. At previous AGMs, our membership have said they are very happy for us to committ a big chunk of our annual income to help support local talent, which will hopefully someday provide the first team with a crop of young players.
The reserves play on Shielfield Park when the first team are away from home, kick off 3pm.
